• WA3RM develops circular industries, primarily producing food, feed and fuel
  • The “3” in WA3RM is silent; we pronounce “warm”. The “3R” in WA3RM comes from the energy concept “Responsible, Renewable, Recyclable” of the European Spallation Source ESS, where the WA3RM team was first formed.
  • WA3RM was founded May 25, 2015
  • WA3RM creates value by matching waste resources and uses, by integrated development of combinations of waste-based industrial applications, by financing the industrial infrastructure and by franchising the use of the created facilities
  • A key success factor is the ability to work with low-grade heat, as low as 40°C, often considered as without any value or even negative value
  • WA3RM has a project portfolio of five projects, two of which have moved the second development phase, industry design
  • The typical project thus far consists of a 15 ha greenhouse and a fish farm for 1500 tons of annual production, with waste heat and CO2 from the anchor industry and recirculating water and nutrients between the greenhouse and fish farm, an investment of around 500 MSEK
  • WA3RM offers industry partners a one-stop-shop to achieve recycling of heat, CO2 and other resources, without substantial investment
  • Partnering with WA3RM offers industry an opportunity to go beyond zero net emissions, by using renewable inputs and then recycling
  • WA3RM offers a path to economic growth while shrinking environmental impact

RID – Regenerative Industry Development is about combining waste streams, technological processes and third-party capital to create new industries

Regenerative Industry Development (RID) combines industrial waste streams, technological processes and third-party capital to create new industries in which waste resources from industry are the primary input. An industrial process is deemed to be regenerative when its primary inputs have zero or negative value and it creates sufficient positive value to attract capital.

The process of regenerative industry development can be applied also to each new regenerative industry established, creating multiloop regeneration. To attract the necessary investment, applications must demonstrate sufficient profitability. It is therefore appropriate to speak of regenerative development, as the result is economic growth while shrinking environmental impact.

REGENERATIVE TECHNOLOGIES

There are many  regenerative industry applications  that we use to design regenerative industrial infrastructure

Based on industrial waste resources, a profitable, circular and symbiotic system for food production can be established that uses low-grade heat and achieves multiloop recycling.

There are many uses for waste heat, particularly at high temperature, and other waste streams as well. The choice of technologies in each case ultimately depends upon available resources and  market conditions.

Algae farms and bioplastic production are among the most exciting development areas in regenerative industry.
